yes its all out one side and when your at any sort of height even running over a brick makes your arse pucker his words not mine i've never used one it can be bad enough with a post knocker at times

Easier with the chainsaw and access platform on JCB

Contractor around here uses one for roadsides but not the most stable platform.
Good for what he does, he has a circular saw type and one with two swinging blades for softer cutting.

I have a hydraulic motor and an 18" saw blade. It's slow but it makes it a one person job.

I have a mcconnell hydraulic driven chainsaw that I intend to fit on to a frame on telehandler to trim overhanging branches off trees.did try the saw cutting a fallen tree up,it is absolutely awesome as the petrol chainsaw will start to fade when it cuts full length of the bar but the hydraulic one just keeps chomping through,hard work though pulling the pipes about.

It's on a 2m length of box section on a socketed headstock and can either go vertically up in front of the left hand side for tree branches or horizontally out to the left for topping hedges.

nice and steady away.
I tend to stick gearbox in neutral, put blade above the branch and floor the engine. The odd nudge on the tip lever runs it through without slowing the blade
