I'm thinking of using hedges for the first time as part of my EFA requirement. Is it as simple as measuring hedges and including them on the form?

Sort of. It's part D on paper form. 5m2 per 1m length for adjacent hedges and those in field.
I don't know if it's just us but did FIL 2 years ago on hedges and buffers and he had greening inspection. Followed by EU auditor inspecting the RPA. Repeated last year and he was inspected again.
