Hedges in environmental schemes?

Is there a way to see if hedges are in an environmental scheme.

Hedge on our boundary is massively overgrown and needs the top trimming (we've done our side)

I was just going to cut it but am concerned that the neighbors may have put it into a scheme and be claiming on it.

My agent is of the opinion its our hedge but i have a feeling it may be an area of potential disagreement with neighbors.

If its not a scheme i will just cut it.

think you can see on magic maps if land is in stewardship schemes, not sure of accuracy down to hedge level.
would a phone call to neighbours be simplest? if its your hedge your are entitled to cut it regardless

I have tried magic maps but couldn't find anything that went to that detail.....could be me not doing it right though

Hedges on boundaries were/are not fully claimable here in Wales if I am not mistaken.
Therefore you had no control over the whole hedge no matter whether you or your neighbour ‘owned’ it.

If it is your hedge, you can top it full width. If not, the convention is that you side it on your side but only take your shoulder off, leaving them to top it.

I get on well with my neighbour. One of our boundry hedges has become hugely overgrown as they were claiming for it in HLS (and I think now mid/higher tier) and didn’t trim it on their side, although I did trim mine. Funnily enough when I approached them about sharing the cost of laying some parts they insited the whole hedge was mine :X3::ROFLMAO:
