Heifer not taking calf

Have a heifer that lost her calf.Skinned the calf and tried adopting a calf on to her but she doesnt want to know.First one in years that hasnt been successful.Has been with the calf for 10days but no luck.
Just wondered if anyone had any different ideas i could try before turning her out and rearing the calf on the bottle?
Thanks

Getting a bit late really. I take it your crushing her and putting the calf on? Could always use shackles if she’s just wiping the calf away.

Its a pain but if you suckle it in the crush twice a day for long enough you will find they bond abit and the calf will get strong enough to wear the dam down following it around to suck in the shed. Im talking upto a month and from experience! I have had in the past amd both cow and calf will call out the shed for meal and milk until one day you find the calf has found it itself. Depends how much work you want to put in like most things.

Beef her and take calf to market. Buy an outfit with the proceeds.
Theres a sense of satisfaction leaving off a heifer at the factory that has kicked a calf about for a few weeks. Similar feeling to chucking stuff into a skip after a declutter.

put her on a dark trailer or in dark box a long way away from all cattle sight or sound make her really lonely with the calf they will bond after a few days . probably not worth the hassle though

Shackles takes a dog near the pen with you it will help fire up her instincts and restrict her water to twice a day it stop the calf drinking it and she's so thirsty she won't notice the calf drinking give all the water she wants but don't leave any in there.
