Help - Spring off my John Deere 870D Tractor? I cannot identify it

I have spent 2 days online, working through 2 manuals and countless ideas and cannot figure out a spring that came off my tractor over the weekend. Can anyone help me identify this spring? I think it must have been coiled a more but I cannot tell. I have a variety of pictures. Anyone have any ideas for me? I have attached a picture of my tractor too. Super stumped but worried about this thing and if I am at risk not replacing it! Thank you to anyone with some ideas!

Has to be a tine, the long straight part has been polished at a time and is now partially rusty and there appears to be chaff wedged in the spring.
Would look like half of this.
Pick Up Tine - Baler Spares - Experts in baler spares (balerparts.co.uk)

Wow it sure does look like that... I have the back blade on my tractor but no baler.. I am not sure maybe it was under my seat or something. Never had a baler but I think you guys might have nailed it. I was worried it was something off the PTO or clutch arm, bucket controls, etc. I will snoop around a little more. It was in on the ground in our yard. We recently put down straw for erosion control and the straw in the "spring" sort of made sense that it was from my yard, but.... Not sure.

So, were did you find it?

Looks more like half of a pick up tine off a baler to me.
Thank you.. I found it on the ground out where we were working. We have straw down so I thought it was "my straw" that the spring picked up. That said, if it is a baler tine then it's likely not "my straw" lol if that makes sense. Just not sure where it came from.

I'm guessing your straw came in some sort of bale :scratchhead:

When they break on the baler they very often end up in a bale.
Yes - 25 bales we had rumbling around our property. I think you are right. Inside the bale. We spread the straw by hand but didn't see this until now. I think you are right! I am starting to feel a lot better that something didn't break off my machine ;-) I like this tractor..
