Saw the clip you posted elsewhere, call me old fashioned but I don't like all the feet up at once.

Don't like the front gate,I prefer one that opens out or a large V like wopa have.

The box section used looks thin walled and sharp.

The Rams look simple enough.(y)

And I like the working height.

Dp nutrition hydraulic crush is £8.5k or thereabouts.

It was in the livestock section and if people are like me don't look in there often.....
I'm not a fan and see no reason why you'd have 4 feet up. Not something I need to do.
DP hydraulic farmers is a good crush and less money but I use the grinder for shaping toes and really like the way these types hold the foot firm.

I only found your video clip through Google:)

I never shape a toe always trim a foot like you would with a knife,I use mainly the grinder and if you have the leg up against a chain they never kick back.

Talking with a young lad while freeze branding the other day and he'd hit his thumb with the grinder while trimming  I told him he needs to get out of the habit of holding the hoof.

KVK is £19300 roughly and Anka £26000 so that's a non starter!!! for me.
For a similar machine if you can hit the exchange rate right you may get it less than £14k. Still a lot of money........ but boy it would make foot trimming a pleasure especially those front feet. Fed up of working on my knees and feet wobbling about.

That would be similar spec to the DP crush although theirs is hydraulic. I know quite a few with this type and they've been pleased. I would dearly love to get the cows up higher to work on. I'm not getting any younger you know!!!
This will be the last crush i buy and if doing 200 a year if they all get done twice really want to try and make life as easy/stress free and safe as i can. My DP manual winder crush is still worth a bit so that'll help.

If you had a cow throw herself about in that I'd worry about the whole lot turning over when up in the air. I've seen a lot of normal crushes rock with angry cows. I also don't like all 4 feet up.

If you go to the website and watch the video its one of the worst foot trimming demo's I've ever seen. You do not remove healthy side wall. No modelling the solar ulcer site.

If you want 4 foot access get a rollover. At least the weight of the cow is supported by her whole side on rubber padding, not just 2 straps.

Definitely don't want a rollover crush. Really don't like the idea of tipping cows over at drying off 50 days before calving. I'd have though it would feel very weird working that way after a lifetime of trimming upright. From what i can see the feet are not at all secure and firm to work on either. If the foot cant move and you have something firn to bare on you can be precise in knowing exactly where your foot is when work your knife.
Cant believe he's holding the foot with one hand and grinder if the other. Crazy!!

I don't see why you can't do a foot one at a time like normal. Seems to me like its in a bid to get ever more cows through in record time with one trimming with a assistant lifting feet only. That's not what my intention is by any means.
I don't think they'd make these crushes if they were prone to toppling over. Looks like lots of full time trimmers have gone to these style of crushes now over the traditional Wopa/GDS style.

Surely with a double belly strap on she's not going to be able to move around that much to gain much momentum.

Any one know the make of that roll over crush in the video? Looks a good bit of kit. There is a lot of controversy about roll over crushes I know but I do think they would be handy for drying cows off in one. At the end of the day the cow is in the same position she is in if she were stretched out sleeping surely. A bit like taking yourself to see the GP and Doc says lie down on bed/table what ever you call it thing.

We have the DP hydraulic crush but with vertical lift as well , so no bending over . Good crush but not the best for front feet .

Flip that was quick!!! Looks well and truly out of my league!

Unfortunately out of our league as well but we use a contractor to do the bulk of our cow foot trimming and he has one of these types of crushes , except he has adapted his to remote control for the gates to make things even easier .
