Henken hydraulic crush.

We have the DP hydraulic crush but with vertical lift as well , so no bending over . Good crush but not the best for front feet .

What don't you like about doing the front feet in the dp crush?

I'm of the opinion that no one makes the perfect crush, chap who comes and helps me out built his own,it's a hell of a piece of kit with bits copied of just about every manufacturer.

I don't see why you can't do a foot one at a time like normal. Seems to me like its in a bid to get ever more cows through in record time with one trimming with a assistant lifting feet only. That's not what my intention is by any means.
I don't think they'd make these crushes if they were prone to toppling over. Looks like lots of full time trimmers have gone to these style of crushes now over the traditional Wopa/GDS style.

Surely with a double belly strap on she's not going to be able to move around that much to gain much momentum.

I also can't see why he couldn't just lift 1 leg at a time,I always lift a rear leg 1st then do the fronts,my reason is so they can't kick me in the face while doing the fronts.

After a chap with a roll over trapped numerous front legs lowering cows back down I refuse to have one here again.

Downsides with a roll over for me are trimming heights, your either up high or crouching, also if you hit blood on an ulcer it runs onto the claw your going to block:banghead: claw presentation in an upright crush is easier with the knife.

Very few roll overs I know of in our area, defo a move away from them.

This is typical of how you end up working on front feet . Then when cow tries fighting you the hydraulic motor doesn't lock but slowly slackens and this is the result .
Yes to be able to add the best bits from every crush would certainly make life easier.

Put the rope between the dew claw and the heal. Much better hold and position on the block.

All well and good but the cow panics more and then with the hydraulic motor slowly releasing the rope you have to keep tightening it up then the cow panics again .
If only it was so easy as to attach the rope lower , unfortunately that's one of the crushes faults .

Just fit a check valve onto the hydraulic motor, you won't get any slip back then. Only cost about £20!

A few of these working locally, local trimmer has one, seen him work with it no issue, it's mobile has it own drive wheel, drives off his 14ft ifor plant trailer, and drives to set up in farmers yard, and drives back up on again when finished, cows don't budge in it the sensation of being on their sides..

Dont like the video of the inspect4 crush. Just a man pointing out safety elements. The video doesn't promote the crush you dont get to see gates fully working or how the belly band operates. Dont get me wrong im not saying its a bad crush just a bad promotional video of working demonstration

So the henken ram system is better because it won't creep, some sort of ratchet on the front winch if a check valve didn't work.
