Is this something we're still supposed to do?

We run uniform and its all accessible through there so it seems rather pointless.

If we are supposed to them I am a touch behind......

I have only had uniform records for the last 15 years and has been accepted at all inspections. You have a full herd register and movement book on uniform as long as you keep it up to date.

Yes

Same as Fergieman, no problems here yet, uniform is your movement book.
You can also download a file from CTS and then reconcile it with uniform, very handy for picking up any animals you may have missed.

Cheers, then why on earth would an Inspector need paper records???

As long as you can do a printout for any anally retentive luddite Inspector, should be OK surely....

Thanks, that's the answer I was looking for.

At our last physical farm assurance visit they asked to see them but I've never offered uniform as an alternative.

Just make sure you have the address's complete and not just a business name. Had one inspector that wanted the full address of a supplier.

You do need a movement book, however uniform should be able to provide that via the reports section which if printed/viewed on inspection would count as a movement book

I've always used farmwizard as ours without a problem, but parents insist on a paper one which nobody has looked at for year's

Local Trading standards wanted me to print off 30 pages of movement records to send in, I politely suggested that they could get it all on line from BCMS, haven't heard back in 6 years!

Aslong as it’s properly backed up regularly to a separate hard drive or something similar it’s grand

Last time I had a visit from TS, years ago, they turned up with a printout....

We had one a few years ago who asked for a print out because he forgot his, then proceeded to check the print out against our movement book which was a print out funnily enough everything matched
