another month without rain shouldnt be an issue, if theres nothing by june then its time to worry

My biggest fear is a wet dull June early July, on our heavy land moisture isn't a problem but still need the sun for yield.

Don't mind the dry . It's wonderful for working but the cold temperature is really extreme. Actually had a water pipe blew a joint this morning. Big heap of ice cubes in the field!

Older leys just don't do well in this weather. Have been holding off harrowing but bit the bullet and done a load today (till the harrow broke!)

Still some moisture in the ground but we need some warmth!

That will be 2 months without any here and stuff will start to suffer after the crap winter meaning no deep rooting

Hope it doesn't go on like last year, spring barley stood it surprisingly but winter barley was a disaster.

Never done it.

Well round with us there's a lot of 'hay' ground that doesn't get grazed or topped so gets a lot of build up of rank old dead stuff, moss and mole hills.

4 dry days and it was just starting to dry up nicely but now it's raining again. This country needs a roof over it.
