Holiday cover

I remember here being a thread running on this before but I can't for the life of me find it. I think it could have been @Foregoneconclusion who was looking?

But basically I'm looking to cover my holiday of a week away as a minimum and then there would be work longer to cover dad to go away too. There is potential that it could progress into an assistant herdsman role over the next year though for the right person.

I've rung LKl any expirience with they're staff? They're not cheap because there is a minimum 8 hour day and for an autumn calver like me I would have to think really hard to find something for them to do for that long but that said they could well trim every single cows foot for me.

I use lkl when I have to. Like you say they are expensive and don't forget on top of the hourly rate there is the daily meal allowance and the milage charge to get to you.

I do have a lkl chap here at the moment as 1 of my herdsmen is on long term sick. He is OK for what we need. Did have a very good one last year. So it's a bit of luck who turns up. All in all they are useful to get you out of a hole.

I booked a guy out of the farmers weekly, he fail to show up i still have his number if you want to double check before you book.
I rang LKL and they had someone on farm within 2 days. Excellent service but as has been said at a price.

Yes I sort of begrudge the meal charge if I'm honest but then for a decent bloke the price is fair enough. It's the minimum hours that could kill me but aslong as they can trim feet it should be ok

I really shouldn't read this thread, I really ought to go further than emlyn on my holidays
I came close to tagging your earlier but feared you wouldn't know what to do with yourself with all that free time and would end up buying more Massey bits. I would then no doubt get a large telling off from @Farmers little Wife

That's the one. I'm useless with the search function thank you

Thank you for your call earlier. I am currently in touch with the Client before and the one after your dates to create availability to cover your holiday. I think yours will be easy but, your Dad's a little more tricky.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
