I agree, breeding lower stature, higher constituent holsteins here, got to be more feed efficient if a small cow produces the same MS.

RE narrow cows, stature and width are related to overall size, so if a bull is small he will have lower stature and lower width. That does not mean he's narrow though, unless the width is more minus than the stature. As best I understand it.
Experts, correct me if I'm wrong.
l was taught a cow had to be a triangular shape, good width, and a bloody big mouth, so it could shovel in large quantities of food. From about 1965ish. It isn't really that far away from today's, only we have loads of facts and figures to tell us that, now.

She’s only a heifer. In around 600kg according to the weigh cells. Don’t worry about the red one she’s not as easy on the eye 😂
What would your herd weigh as an average do you reckon? Ahh it's OK she's red, red cows can have a quarter in 4 different continents and get a pass because they're red 😂 or they can with me atleast 😂
What red bulls have you used in the past out of interest?

No idea, never thought about that. Il see if I can find and average tomorrow when I’m at the computer. Red ones are ok, I don’t have a preference. I haven’t used many, most of the red cows I have I bought around 5 years ago as year olds. Used a few RC Bulls but red only bulls I’ve used Aladdin Red & that’s it I think. Don’t have any red Aladdins.

My old work used aladdin red, never got to see any milking unfortunately, they genomic tested all the calves and the only thing they found was the aladdins came back as low imunity

What’d you breed them to? I had one and I’m pretty sure she was one of the worst silver daughters ever. I’m not convinced on silver. Lots of guys seem to love them

She's not mine, so not much control over the way she was bred. She's from a deep pedigree, backed by sound bulls, so it's been disappointing seeing her daughter come through. I'm to get her next calf so she's been put to Legend Maker Victor.

Anyone milking any cogent bills?
Currently dry and due any day now, should hopefully do much better this lactation but decent fat and protein and keeps up with the friesians no problem, she is slightly taller than them though
