Home made weed wiper ideas

I’ve been looking to make a weed wiper similar to the jB eddington tractor mounted ones. I can make the frame of it quite easily I was wonder what type of material would be best to hold the spray without it dripping. Looking forward to a reply or experience if someone has done something similar

Just carpet, made my own years ago using what was left over from a room we had done.
Bought a new Chapman one a couple of years ago and it had exactly the same carpet on it, even the colour!

I was thinking you were talking about a roller type weed wiper, not the type in your picture.
Carpet hanging in a loop may still work you would just have to make sure it wasn’t saturated and dripping or too dry and not doing the job.
What is it your going to wipe?

I quite like this idea.... no rolling of weeds and adjustable height.

There was a bloke near us who had an old Land Rover which was rotten so wasn't used on the road. He welded some old horseshoes, points upwards onto the top of the front bumper and sat a scaffold tube in them with and old blanket wrapped around it and dangling down to about 6 inches above the ground. It was fed with spray from an old 5 gallon drum connected to it by a tube that sat on top of the nearside front wing. It was a bit crude but it did work well.

I also have a PDF the source for which I cannot find, so I'll try to post the PDF below. It is a little more sophisticated than the first design.
