just been doing alot of hay makeing, loading and carting, the tractor thats towing the bale trailer is a 1996 newholland 6640 2 wheel drive, that we bought second hand in 2000, when bought the aircondtiner compresser had seized up, so had a company out to replace compressor and belt and regas, this was done nearly 20 years ago? in the hot weather we have been having the airconditioner works a treat having it no more than the control on fan speed 2, now contrast that with the alot more modern loader tractor and nearly new mowing tractor ? the loader tractor that also gets used to ted and row up is a newholland t5105, the air conditioner starts off first thing alright then just seems then to roar away blowing warm airround? guess whats the nicest tractor to use and be in?

My MF6616 last year was red hot, A/C stopped working about June, got new compressor and receiver dryer in July, it came back on briefly, went off again and finally got fixed in October. The A/C in my 6716 went off a couple of weeks ago.... its always when its hot when it packs in.

Some NH ones have one knob to turn off heater and cool, often the heater isnt fully off. I find under seat systems dont work well as the "radiators" are too small and freeze up. Try switching off the aircon BUTTON for 10 mins and let it thaw out.

Very likely an R12 system.

Like an oven in all mine, all 3 have air-con. The 2 that worked fine last year now don’t work, 1 just needs a new valve in the high port the other needs a pipe thats chaffed on summut. The 7710 needs a condenser at 700 odd quid so that’s not happening !.
All in all looks like I’ll just sweat my bo11ocks off all summer !.

Think the best air con I ever had the pleasure of was a old 8770 (W reg), New Holland’s of that vintage had very good air con. Even a Ts115 I drove around the time had top notch air con. then I got on a Tsa and it all went down hill, was torture turning the same 100a of hay every day for a week :(

Best way to look after air-conditioning is to use it. All year round. But always switch off before stopping engine and on again after starting engine. And keep doors and windows closed.
(y) aircon man told me that back in 2002, he said switch it off before stopping, as just killing the power is akin to pulling the plug out the wall on the video or computer to switch it off. :stop:
