How do you keep and mark keys

To be able to write on the key fob - is this the only way? The size is 5 x 2 cm which is still too big. The cheap ones dont work and fall apart. The key situation needs attention.

Shearwell can print you cattle ear tags as key rings

We use old cattle tags and right on them with a marker pen

Nail varnish. You can write with it, or just put a blob of one colour on the key and one on the lock. Easy and waterproof.

I just buy blank key fobs, print up a label and then put it inside. Works wonders for keeping everything organised.

Then have different key boards labelled up, one for vehicles, house, farm, etc. so anyone knows where to look for one.

Helps no end if ever you need someone else to look for a key. Imagine how people would cope if you were in hospital for a day or such…..make labels clear and idiot proof and it’s simple.

We have construction kit too so those keys are so similar

Has to work for me and the kids plus anyone else who comes here. Even the boys friends. opening the bike shed etc.

Hot air gun melts the glue. It is only plastic. Not an issue.

I would buy a set of punches and just stamp a letter or two in each key.
