How do you keep and mark keys

To be able to write on the key fob - is this the only way? The size is 5 x 2 cm which is still too big. The cheap ones dont work and fall apart. The key situation needs attention.

when theres 20 or so keys on a key ring, you tend to remember
and some of those 20 keys, one key can open 5, 6 different padlocks

I just buy blank key fobs, print up a label and then put it inside. Works wonders for keeping everything organised.

Then have different key boards labelled up, one for vehicles, house, farm, etc. so anyone knows where to look for one.

Helps no end if ever you need someone else to look for a key. Imagine how people would cope if you were in hospital for a day or such…..make labels clear and idiot proof and it’s simple.

I drill holes tiny holes in my keys and know how many holes correspond with which lock .ok up to about eight locks but then run out of room to drill The

We have construction kit too so those keys are so similar

Has to work for me and the kids plus anyone else who comes here. Even the boys friends. opening the bike shed etc.
