What do you want to do with the fields after and how much straw in the muck . If 2cd cut you will be harvesting muck if your not carefull

So what does that do? Reduce the quantity as it gets rid of the straw and all the wasted hay in the crap of those horrible inefficient things?

That’s a good idea @bobk but only if it’s close to houses and it’s a hanging misty dead calm morning. That way all the neighbours get the maximum flavour from the stinking, smouldering, pi$$ soaked heap of straw as it permeates every home nearby.

At least that’s what they seem to do round here.

Neighbour threatened with a heafty fine a few years back when heap was alight by accident/vandal.

I’m not sure I’d ever bother spreading it!! Maybe stir it for a decade and it’ll be worth spreading.
