It's baled now! Wuffler once then turned it over with single rotor rake, wuffled it another twice. Over a period of ten days where we'd a lot of wind. Was far from perfect but it's been trading for up to £20 for a 4.5 ft bale up here so it all counts.

It was straw we'd bought in bout. Not our combine.

Should be ok through a chopper .

Some of our straw in 30ft bouts. Good germination.
There was a thread running before harvest about how useless 30ft bouts were in wet weather, it was very prophetic.
I have never seen grain growing IN a bout before this harvest.
The rotaries leave the straw too dense, and dense enough for barley to grow in it.
some of my straw is baled behind a jd rotary, and there are huge divots in it.

Drove down from Glasgow to Stranraer Tuesday last week seemed what had been cut hadn't been baled, acres not touched at all very wet, farmer I spoke to said he may bite the bullet and just strip graze it with silage.:( Not good.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
