That would be working for the council...Was told years ago that the money was made when the machine was on site but not working. Eg loading lorries, but only 3 an hr, idle for 45 mins in the hr but getting paid.

Just had a new sewage tank put in down the road thanks to Anglian water, it has taken 6 months. They have had a rubber duck ( think that is the name )4 wheeled probably ten ton machine, on hire all this time. I doubt it has done a days work, mostly shifting concrete in its bucket doing the job the 3 -4 idle man could have done with wheel barrows instead of leaning on their shovels.
Job cost several million

I've just watched the local council crew of 6 men, 2 vans and a lorry put in 15 metres of post and rail fence....took them 3 days.
For test on dozer training gps is usedObvious I know but quality of driver most important factor. Seen a field we used to farm levelled with dozer with GPS. Quantity of earth shifted and quality of work amazing.
