How to get a driving test appointment.

My son has taken his test once and failed it and is trying to get another test but is struggling to. He’s tried using apps and getting up early on Monday morning but has not had any luck. We have also applied for a tractor test but have heard nothing. It would be really helpful if he past his test so he could haul corn on the road this harvest but time is getting short.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I read recently that some nefarious people are using robots to trawl the test appointments and buy them up nanoseconds after they are released.
These slots are then offered at x2 or x3 face value to desperate learners
Might have to swallow that if time is short

If he is old enough to do a car test then he doesn’t need a tractor test.

If your prepared to travel then surely you can find a car test?
Certainly the case here. Yeovil has loads slots next couple months but poole 6mth wait.
Daughters friend just past after turning 17, 6 months ago. 4 theory and 3 car tests in 6mths. Her parents both had a App and got good at finding car test slots for her.

Just an observation not intending to cast judgment on anyone but it seems crazy that any one old enough to pass a tractor test can go whizzing down a country road with an 8 ton tractor pulling 15 tons of trailer and corn but isnt up to passing a car driving test. Similar rules here but won’t last long with the accidents that happen.

Simple is you can't. Width and axle spacing etc will limit them to a single axle or an ifor type. No grain hauling with big trailers at 16 with a tractor test. Not sure once tired 17 on a f licence. Would be handy here to have daughter drive gator on an f licence but you can't as that's an appliance not a tractor.

Thanks for clarifying that.

testi app had no problems at all with getting test s for are youngster , exeter test centre, good luck with it
The app worked well for my kids
As @Bald Rick said it is a well known fact that registered driving instructors have priority to get the test slots and some are taking gross advantage of this to book the centres out then sell the slots on at several times the cost. The Times was running a campaign to get this stopped but nobody has done anything about it yet

It's a nightmare, daughter was messed about with a crap instructor plus covid lockdowns, then tried whilst at uni in exeter, couldn't get a test slot despite 6 months of trying. Only one that came up interfered with her studies.

Son just passed his test beginning of May,turned 17 end of april, had his theory booked for 2 days after birthday then managed to get a cancellation 2 weeks later but had to go into the city rather than local town.He had 2 apps on his phone, never had any cancellations for local town though so just took his chance on city test. His original test date was for end of August.

There’s a few Facebook groups where people can post if they can’t do a certain date which they’ve been allocated .
