ATV with electric spinner? Any tips welcome.
I hope so, I did this yesterday!Clover is easy.
Just chuck it in the spreader along with your fert.
Job is done
Whats everyone else paying for white clover? I bought some the other day £10/kg.
I'm going to scratch it in with einbock tined seeder, too expensive to chuck out back of fert spreader at 24m.
And to think you could have had for less,Paid 9 quid at Wynnstay for a white clover blend this week.
And to think you could have had for less, delivered too! Min 25kg though.

Ha-ha, I'll let you off then.I did wonder... but I wanted it on that afternoon and it was only 10kilos...![]()
We spin a lot of seed (driving fert trucks for a day job) and generally we cover it twice at half the rate. Go once - and then drive in between your marks. If you normally spread at say, 12m, spread at 6m and cut the seed rate accordingly to get a good coverage with no dropping off at the edges. I would actually say 6m might even be pushing it! Depends on you machine...
Tread in or light harrow or heavy rain soon after... All will work!![]()

Helps if you're unsure of calibration/ rate as you can go up or down at the halfway mark, and "make it fit", and you don't get 'thin bits' at corners.
I was told:
Clover, 12 m, go over it twice
Brassicas, same, or 8m (one pass)
Grass, 5 metres
It soon spreads out if well managed.
Yeah, 8 metres would be enough.I am not far off from your guidelines when I apply seeds by the sounds of things...
I remember trying to put stubble turnips on at 12m as I had been told the slug pellet spreader would do it. What a mess...![]()
What about feeding it to the sheep and let them spread it? I am thinking of trying this in the spring on some old pasture
im going to try that in a month or so with the umbilical and injectorHow about chucking in slurry tank when mixing?
