pretty much as above what software would be needed and where can u get it, thinking of dog etc for a gate. been a while from I used autocad and don't know a pile about it.

any help appreciated

I find that the time it takes to scan, convert, scale & correct a drawing is longer than the time to redraw from scratch. Most stuff I model in Fusion 360 these days & generate drawings etc from that.

How do you find Fusion? I'm an Inventor user who was convinced to try it out by a friend. Gave up after a few hours as I just couldn't get my head around the assembly system without constraints

Have to say the cloud rendering and stress analysis was brilliant. Just wish they would add that capability to Inventor.

I have to admit that the concept and implementation of "joints" rather than assembly constraints can be a bit awkward compared to traditional 3d cad such as Inventor & Solidworks, but much of the stuff I do is either single entities or small assemblies so it's not too bad.

If I could justify the cost (or won the lottery) then I'd go over to Solidworks. I might give the latest version of Alibre a go soon - I used to use it a few years ago & got on okay with it apart from the occasional crashing & trashing of files in complex assemblies, but what really stood out for me was the simplicity when creating sheet metal parts & generating the drawings and profiles/flat nets - it simplified having to recreate drawings of around 30 sheet metal parts (about 150 drawings in all) in my former employment.

Save it as a dxf. Export from there. Depends on the machines software. Might need rot go through a code programme to be read.

I done one a couple of years ago in AutoCAD 2000, I e-mailed it to the engineering firm and transferred it to there system then. If you know who is going to cut it before hand give them a ring and find out what works for them.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
