Haven’t opened it, but bought a North Face jacket, was sold as Goretex, a sieve was more waterproof.
Gortex is good, it's not a North face thing they just use it. I have 2 good jacket from them so I can't say anything bad against them. Could be 10 year ago so before woke was invented perhaps

For balance , I had a north face mountaineering jacket , full on alpine climbing type thing , that was goretex lined and was crap from day one in anything but Misty drizzle, off topic but I’ve never got on with gortex

Thought this was sn April fool.
The country lunatics have taken over asylum.
It just gets worse and worse.
I'd love a quiet little place somewhere to be left alone . No bull sh!t to deal with or selfish folk.
Emigration is looking like an option . Just need to find right place .
Suggestions?????

Also.....why would North Face fussed about how "racially inclusive" their customers are?

It's far easier to change the world by changing your own business.....than it is persuading your customers to think differently and discriminating against them if they hold a view of which you as a business claim to disapprove.

What matters surely (if it really does) is how "racially inclusive" NORTH FACE are!

Overall Rating: It’s A Start

The North Face has improved its ethical and sustainable practices over the years and is on the right path. However, it still needs to make some progress: it has made a public commitment to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions but it unclear whether it is making progress on its target. In addition to this, it doesn’t ensure payment of a living wage in its supply chain and still uses problematic leather. Based on these facts and on the information from our own research, we rated The North Face ‘It’s A Start’ overall.

To improve its rating, The North Face would need to start using more eco-friendly materials, set water targets or goals, and start ensuring the workers in its supply chain are empowered and paid a living wage.

I owned a lightweight NF jacket for summer use, so very little wear, but after a few years the inside seams came away and I sent it off for an estimate for repair. The quote was probably half the price of the jacket. I was also told that I should return my jacket every ten years or so for reproofing a and maintenance. Didn't think Goretex needed reproofing, that's why I bought it. Went back to waxed cotton after that.

Interestly iirc North Face was the baby of a chap called Douglas Tompkins, who made it his life's work to buy up large swathes of patagonia, to protect it.

When I cycled through it for a few months 10yrs ago, everyone thete thought it was covert US imperialism and chuffing hated him. Might be an exaggeration, but there were plenty of road sign graffiti saying "patagonia sin tompkins"
