Optical. They were over a grand 1050ish for the two displays and 7 scales. the lathe y scale is 1100 long, a bit of a price jump. The guy was quite decent. Do you want his number?
Thanks, optical definitely the way to go (y) probably a bit more than I wanted to throw at mine though really, I didn’t pay that much for the lathe :ROFLMAO:. Already have a 2 axis optical dro on the mill and it’s dead handy, but it is more of a luxury than a necessity.
I know the 3m bed on the lathe will make it very expensive:( maybe one day though.

its not a luxury when you're crap at mental arithmetic and the generator is chugging away outside and youre faffing about trying to swap metric measurements into imperial! Its a necessity!
I'll be sending him a message in the morning to say that the stuff arrived ok, ill ask him how much a 3 meter scale is.
have you used the full 3 meters?

He reckons a 3 meter scale adds 500 +vat to the price of the kit. So best part of a grand:(

But as you didn't pay much for it, you can add it on and youve still got a cheap tool.(y)

no more than Phils strimmer at that price youd have to wonder what price it was the day it left the factory .......
if your looking for something to fill a hole, or your not too fussy about a toolbox then its hard to say its not value at that price.
personally i wouldnt touch it with a ten foot barge pole but they say im a bit posh when it comes to tools so go figure.
if you want a good sturdy roller chest then have a look at the Beta cabinets, in fairness to them its a damn good toolbox but before you go looking, your £80 quid isnt going to go far on one mind.
buy cheap and buy twice imo.
thats just my own opinion but i make a living out of my toolboxes so for hobby use it may do you the best.
