Sorry for digging up an old thread here but I've just been considering this IBC idea and wondered how people were getting on with them?
My only concern is how fresh does the water stay after say a month? 2 months? 6 months?
I know sheep are fussy with water so don't want to make one if the water doesn't last long. I'm currently bucketing up fresh water every week but the hot spell this week has meant doing it daily so it got me thinking how I could do it easier.
Thanks

exactly what i do...except black ibc......top up with a clear ibc that i take round on forklift

black ibcs are rare as unfortunately

Thanks for your reply. Would it work the same if I sprayed it black do you think?
I am hoping that the water will stay great for at least a month or 2?

You can buy the black ones off the internet quite easily from places like directwatertanks and tanksdirect etc. always seem to have them in stock.

stretching it a bit i think....would the paint be thick enough...or would brushed on be better...plus sheep are going to rub against it...lick it... you know:rolleyes::banghead:.....if you put cover on it they'd eat it:rolleyes:....don't know TBH

Just asked my husband if he could make me one of these please.... his reply: yeah no problem, I've a couple of IBC tanks at the yard I don't need!!
:banghead::banghead::banghead: he's been watching me bucket water up like a fool for the last 2 years!!!

I need to start asking for more instead of just making do with what I have... what other treats does he have stashed at this yard??? I may need to go and check it out :joyful::joyful:
