Ideas on how to make the right size Box section for draw bar

Wanting to make a telescopic drawbar for the header trailer. I need a piece of box section 187x135 8 or 10 mm thick. It could be a little bit small. Can’t find any near that size. Best idea so far is 2 lengths of C section 180 x 75, trim one Down to 180 x 60 and weld them together.

Claas trolley has drawbar extension piece sliding either above or below the fixed section, and with a couple of fabricated sleeves (sized to be a sliding fit) welded onto one half, effectively banding them together but allowing the assembly to telescope when required. A bolt through one sleeve, and the drawbar section, locks it in required position.
The problem with making a full telescopic bar will be danger of it seizing if drawbar bends even slightly.
If you want a pic of arrangement I described, I can.

Just get some plate bent into a C shape yhe correct size, and a weld a bit of flat on to make a box.

Could I have some pictures please. It is a claas trailer, but it’s a fully welded drawbar.

If you can find a box section 10 mm smaller then weld some thin strips of 5mm length ways it will be less likely to seize up , don’t need strips the full length could be short lengths every 1/2 meter or so , could use any size strip depending upon the size box you can find / make .
Nearest piece I could find so far are 150 or 200 mm.

Yes I will get them.
Mine is 15/17ft trailer for Dominator, maybe not appropriate or strong enough if you are talking about big Lexion header.

I think our header trailer had a thick plate welded over the end of the large box with a hole cut in it to match the smaller sliding box section.
The sliding box was possibly 20mm smaller. I presume it had a block welded on the internal end to fit the external box and still had about 3 metres of the smaller box inside when fully extended.

It slid in and out easily with one pin just behind the end plate for the different lengths.

I think ours was a mekanag trailer now shelbourne I think you can see the difference in size in the link above, perhaps they use thicker walls in the smaller section.
