Red man told me , fuel is the best model we can make on that day , but presumably a 4 year old fuel may still b best 🤔
Id pick fuel.
At least 2 body sizes, bigger one is not a handy tool but if u need that power then .....

Spent the last 30 mins trying to decipher the Milwaukee website.

I am looking for a 1/2" drive impact gun.

which gives about 11 options, a few I can rule out just by looking at them but still leaves about 4 to choose from??

I think I want the high torque version, open to being convinced otherwise, but on that proviso it leaves me with:

M18 FHIW2F12

M18 FHIWF12

but there is also a "one Key version" what is that?

Also would a mid torque do tractor wheel nuts / grab tine nuts etc and if so would that be a better tool to use?

Also what is the difference between an M18 fuel and a normal M18?

Iirc the 'one key' version allows you to set the torque via a phone app? Not sure if that is much of an advantage for most jobs, but I haven't got any one key stuff to have any experience of it.

I have a 'mid-torque' and it is a good tool and I've not beaten it yet. Not sure it would do much on big, well seized on nuts that haven't moved in 30 years, but depends what work you are likely to be at vs the extra size and cost of the hi-torque.

Our makita drills have had it.

Need an impact driver and combi drill

Have m18 stuff (chainsaw, impact wrench, grinder, grease gun)

What would those who understand the many options suggest.

I'm lost with options available.

Probably need a battery or two aswell as currently only have a 12.0 ah high output and a 5.0 ah battery.

Thanks

I have the one key version of M18 FHIWF12. Personally wouldn't bother with the one key again as only bothered connecting it to my phone a handful of times in 4+ years of having it.
Mid torque would just about do wheel nuts if they're not too rusty.
Fuel is brushless and is the better option.
If I was to buy again I'd get a high torque 3/4 and a stubby 1/2 as I find the one I have a bit tiresome on littler stuff like plough points but on the limit for old wagon wheel nuts. But if you are just choosing between the 2 you listed then I'd recommend the M18 FHIW2F12 as it's the newer generation and a bit more powerful.

M18 ONEDD2. Both those batteries would work fine, the 12 is just a bit heavy. Sometimes they have offers on with batteries included. 5ah are ideal for drills I find.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING EXTENDED WARRANTY OF MILWAUKEE PRODUCTS:
Starting in 2024, Milwaukee are putting actions into place to ensure they remain a true professional brand. In order to do this they are focusing on supplying the professional via a Milwaukee authorised distributor.
What this means for you:
To get the full extended warranty, you can only purchase from a Milwaukee authorised distributor, look out for the new logo pictured above.
3rd party selling sites including Amazon, Ebay and Mano Mano will be excluded from the full extended warranty so Powertoolmate will no longer be selling Milwaukee products on these websites to ensure our customers get the most out of the products they are buying.

Power tool mate Already pulled all stock off ebay today along with most others.

Dont really understand milwaukees thoughts/reasons about this, surely they just want maxiuim sales anyway they can?

My local agri dealer stocks quite a bit of milwaukee stuff, Now i could be wrong BUT fairly certain they buy it from Kramp. Does this make the local ag dealer a 3rd party???

@fergie35 whats your take on this milwaukee 3rd party thing? i know you not selling it on ebay but does it affect ag dealers buying it off kramp to sell on?:scratchhead:

I'm not sure that I understand the argument that Milwaukee are putting forward here. Traceability of dealer tools sold through Amazon or eBay will still track back to the "professional" supplier.

It looks more likely that Milwaukee is trying to protect margins or keep prices artificially high and I don't like that - at all!!

The problem is that once the product has left the professional supplier there's no guarantee that the contents of the box haven't been "interfered" with. In some instances, resellers have been selling customer returns and damaged units as new stock - leaving the manufacturer to pick up the pieces. It's also been known for suppliers to take stuff out of a box to fulfil an order and then substitute another part later on, again often with not new stock or the wrong item entirely.

That is interesting - and worrying. I certainly don't buy from resellers who have damaged boxes or small marks/bashes/dings on their sale items (if buying new).

I was referring to eBay and Amazon (I've never used Mano Mano) where you can see who the supplier is before buying. I have bought quite a lot from FFX, Powertoolmate or Alan Wadkins on eBay (- for 3 examples) where I am simply looking for the best price for a known item from a known supplier - having also checked their direct sale price.

I take your point that there may be "interference" in the distribution centre but that can be overcome (- I'd hope??). The official distributor could log the serial number of the item they are supplying to the central distribution centre?
