Idiots guide to Milwaukee.....

No reason to avoid to all all, normally its more expensive so with out a link to what your looking to buy i will assume its a lower spec model.
No idea how to link but it's high torgue one key 1/2 inch friction ring, two five amp batteries ,charger ,case and free delivery for 342.95inc vat and 10% off that before midnight ( dvs power tools )

Any good reason to avoid the one key versions? They seem cheaper than the basic ones so they can't be selling as well. Also eBay till tonight there's 10%discount on stuff over 100pound so high torque impact with Batts and charger is about 310 Inc vat
I'll give you one....
It will be sucking power from the battery even when it's just sitting there doing nothing.
I assume its the Bluetooth that's drawing on the battery.
Or, maybe its a plan so yet again they could bring something new out in that 1/2 range because they kinda have it beat to death now, I cant see them being able to squeeze much more torque out of it but they still have to move forward at the same time, who knows.

I had a M18CHIWF last yr and I traded up to the latest one key 1/2 impact that had a smidgen more torque but I regret it now.

least with the older one if you put it down with 3 bars left there would be 3 bars when you came back days later, not so with the one key, if it sits there for 3-5 days you will need a charged battery for it because the one in it will be near flat.

None of them have the same oomph when the battery goes below 3 bars but I suppose that's par for the course, rest assured when they are trying to get the garb for the specs they are practically in an air tight room with a max charged battery.
Aside from that it's a good gun.

That's the sort of thing I was thinking. I won't be using it every day and most places seem to be cheaper than the older model so maybe they're not shifting as many

I don't know if folk copped on or not but the user isn't stupid either.
I could use it every day for a few days but then I might be at a welding job or not in the workshop at all, sure enough when I'd come back the battery would be at 1 bar normally, it's just annoying tbh.

How much is the m18chiwf out of interest, I miss that gun tbh.

I have a rack of Stealth mounts (link below) next to the charger. When a tool's put away the battery goes on the charger, when full it goes the rack, so batteries never stay on the tools, so it wouldn't be a problem for me.

Saying that, I haven't got any one key units. Can you pre set a torque and do things to a set torque? How accurate is it?

Powertoolmate have got your new one ten quid less than the same spec without one key and your old one is sixty quid more!

holy moley, that's a big difference, :scratchhead:.

i just had a quick look there at their website, its all over the place imo but maybe that's just me, i couldn't find both wrenches on it even, could see one but not the other.

i think its got to or getting to the point where just in impact wrenches alone milf**kye have so many variants of the one thing its soo hard now to pick out what you want.
maybe the mothership site has a product compare selector, one would hope so but i didn't look.

Your well trained...:)

i like cases, but for the likes of the units id use a lot they don't go back in the case, if i had to pull it out every time it id be as bad as finding a cable reel and a corded tool.
but like you say, you don't use em every day so more than fair.

yeah, you can set the torque on the phone for the gun, i bought it for that reason, found a way round my problem then and didn't download the app, i went so far but i think it was the permissions that i didn't like on it so never installed it.
as to accuracy, i cant say because of that but would you know, unless you got out with a torque wrench after and seen i guess.
i have a torque wrench tester here but i wouldn't like to run an impact gun on it..

They don’t go back in their cases, got hooks and things for them. Silage wrap tubes with slots cut out make good ‘holsters’ for the drill, impact driver etc.

aha, did i see a pic of them you put up before or am i imagining things, i think maybe you mentioned that before possibly.
still, i suppose its not a bad habit.
i suspect you run a tight ship of a workshop, a place for everything and everything in its place.
which is not like my workshop at all i must say, i know where 90% of stuff is but its not in any real order, its a work in progress..

Possibly have posted a pic of them before.
Everything has a place, and is in it if I have a day tidying up. But I’m a very messy worker and can’t get much in the workshop so things get dumped just inside the door.
Battery tools are about the only thing that do get put away, so that they aren’t flat when I want them.

Well it looks like my air ratchet is dead, all for the want of a tiny bit of nylon.

So I am thinking is it time to bite the bullet and get a cordless one !!!!

All my other cordless stuff is DeWalt but sadly they do not offer a Ratchet, so looking at Milwaukee has anyone any experience of the 12 volt version ?

Do you need a ratchet for particular job?
Some of the impact wrenches are quite compact these days and surprising how much power they have.
Our 18v compact is the go to weapon of choice.
Milwaukee got a smaller 12v with same torque now

M I l f c u k y e you mean...

The brushless is the way to go unless your in tight spaces.
The brushed was smaller sized but more chincy.
As the wife says to me, size isn't important, it's what you do with it that counts..
