Very interesting, I can't help thinking it was better backed by the gold standard, at least it was a true measure of what could be done by a workforce, money is still difficult enough to come by but seems to be so worthless. I've alway found the words interesting on a bank note "I promise to pay the bearer, upon demand 10 pounds" in my youth I assumed that was 10 pounds worth of gold, it seems its 10 pounds worth of nothing at all except 10 pounds worth of somone elses debt.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
