A field access roadway is marked on my RPA maps, (marked as a track) it is predominantly soil not a made up road way. do i need to make a PD / prior notification to put a proper stone roadway in ?
unfortunately it is not suitable for JFDI if there is any doubt as a nosey parker complained a few years ago !!

I met some guy with a clip board warndering around in a neighbour's field so politely asked him if he was lost. He introduced himself as working for the Ordnace Survey department as one of their bods employed to check out questionable items, that turn up on aerial survey, on the ground. Their maps are an indication only and have limited legal significance.

This back fired on me because I pointed out a ditch on the plan (on my neighbour's land) was redundant. Next time the map came out, the "ditch" was missing. Then, of course, there was a rare flood and the ditch. if existing, would have been of some use. It has since been ploughed out. Such is life. Should have kept my mouth shut!

To follow up, that field has since been reseeded....and guess what. The area around here the 'ditch' was ploughed out is now flooded! No need to listen to me as I've only been here for 40 years!
