Massive demand from Russia at
Massive demand from Russia at present which is holding there prices up but yes as everywhere else the drought will be starting to bite so in theory they should start dropping in price.
Fleck crosses incalf for early August are £1480, new calved £1550. Pedigree fleck are £18-1900, black and white should be cheaper than these prices.

Do tb valuation take into account the lower value of imported cattle due to their lower cull value?

Older cattle that is. Or do they not get to that bracket?

If it's pedigree & you farm in Wales, it doesn't matter. The animal is valued as a milker and paid out accordingly (or at least that is what happened when a Johnes carrier throw up an inconclusive and WG demanded she was slaughtered. No inconclusives in the next 5 years of testing though)

Need to be quick if wanting new calved as it is about to be stopped due to animal welfare pressure. Currently can only bring animals in from France but they must be milked after 12 hours from original loading and then rested for a further 8 hours after milking which is going to make the job more expensive in any case

We are loading every week and have no issues with loading milking cows we send them all over the uk
Milking them at stage point somewhere along the way
In most cases we only have to milk once
