You might be right. I was just looking at axles and wheels and comparing it to a laden 8 wheeler which is about 32t.
I see these are available with crab mode too.

That would need to have all axles steering though, I don’t think the one in the vid had a steering third axle? I will have to watch it again....
It’s probably an optional extra.
They do look an awesome bit of kit. But I’m sure the price will also be awesome......

in reality though a tractor and spreader will be around same weight say fendt 900 275 hp around 10.8 ton without ballast a twin axle lime spreader 4.250 kg running on 600 55 26.5 undriven tyres payload on lime 16.2 ton = 31 ton + the truck would keep in tramlines better the truck would also spread its weight more evenly over the 4 driven axles than the tractor spreader combo.
say for the sake of argument at 10 tons per axle , how does the big a compare per wheel ? or a multi drive ? I appreciate there is footprint and psi per sq cm issue to consider with a tyre setup also.
But just on axle loading how would it look with a similar payload ?

And the rest I reckon?...

That frigging Holmar thing that used to spread the sewage cake around here weighed 45-50 laden allegedly....
you are absolutely right. But it has BIG tires, so it can't be bad at all.
Look at the Holmer & Ropa SFP sugar beet harvesters. they are >60t when full with beets. Tires can#t be on low pressure at all.
Basic physics rule is: tire width = depth of penetration with which pressure the tire is inflated. so 1 m width = 45° angle from tire outside = 1 m depth of penetration. Looks like a inverted triangle.

Hi everyone, i've had a quick read through the comments and there seems to be a lot of love for the Tatra's, as Cab over Pete has said we are the new UK dealer for Tatra Trucks and are happy to help with any inquires you have, please email me or ring me on 07739109257. Tatra are very interested in the agricultural sector and are very willing to build what the customer needs. as said before the Trucks will be better in some applications where weight is key, a 6x6 chassis cab weighs just short of 10 ton which is less than most decent sized tractors then there is the body which will be lighter due to it not having any running gear underneath it and all the wheels are driven keening everything on top of the ground rather than being pulled down in wet conditions.

Sorry I’ve missed all this. I haven’t had any alerts for this thread since April.

After many conservations with customers it seems most worry about the size of tyre equipment that can be fitted under a truck based machine. For that reason I have decided against the Tatra. It’s a shame because I think it’s a cracking bit of kit.

So it’s got to be something with large diameter ag tyres.

Does that mean the merc zetros above is out then?

It looks a great machine but not sure I'd like it spreading ontop of our ploughing.
