Importing machinery?

Is it relatively easy to import used machinery from Poland or any European country for that matter or an absolute nightmare?
I fancy upgrading my apple press and I’ve seen some over there.
About the size of 2 pallets, maybe a bit more, and about 500kg.

Get yourself an EORI number from HMRC and it should not be difficult.

The other thing you'll need to have is phytosanitary certificate. Anything food, plants or agri related needs one now. Will get refused entry if you don't have one.

I got my EORI number last night online and since confirmed. That was easy enough to do.
The machinery I am looking at is from the original manufacturer so I think they will be clued up on the phytosanitary requirements and possibly the transport too.
Thanks to all for your comments, just got to find the £25k now.

I got a seed cleaner from Poland a few weeks ago. It was a fraction of the cost of your press, but all went smoothly. I would suggest looking up (or asking) what the import tariff will be before buying to avoid an unpleasant surprise. Most farm equipment has a 0% tariff, but if it is classed as industrial it might attract a higher rate.
