Just introducing minerals - or, more accurately biological stuff, into the water. What's their purpose?
I make quite a bit of apple cider vinegar and I put a fair bit of that through the stock, as it only costs my spare time. (Plenty of roadside apple trees about so we'll generally stop and gather them up)Do you water cattle with filtered, bottled water that there's no minerals or biological stuff in it
My well water has quite high calcium, decent sulfur too. The dugout and pond seems to grow a large assortment of biological doodads as well. A healthy riparian system should offer plenty of adequate water health. Loose minerals the rest if you're in an area deficient in something.
The only thing in my water trough that I put there are goldfish
