that's what the owner of the orchard thought so they bought some, its not trueI was wondering that. Apparently, Shropshire sheep are the only breed that can be relied upon not to damage trees.

Upset a landlord once when my rams completely stripped the bark off a large ash tree from ground level as high as they could reach. Bit of ivy was the only thing that saved it, though not sure for how long.Do your sheep ever strip bark off the apple trees?
Oh dear. I know the society make quite a bit of that attribute and they graze Christmas tree plantations and even vineyards I think. Could just have been that strain. Like anything else, if they're not selected on it, they'll slip back.that's what the owner of the orchard thought so they bought some, its not true
you want some Jacobs if you want to get rid of trees/hedges/anything elseUpset a landlord once when my rams completely stripped the bark off a large ash tree from ground level as high as they could reach. Bit of ivy was the only thing that saved it, though not sure for how long.
well they wouldn't go at yew for longThey seem harder on the trees at Autumn for some reason, tups her seem to strip it off for entertainment. The only trees bark they leave well alone is sycamore, does anybody know of other trees they leave alone?

I have a mains energizer the biggest I could find. Battery and solar energizers only go up to 4J here. Mine has a 15J output. It doesn't say the ampage on it. I guess I would need that to work out the supply required.A lot of the mid-sized energisers available here are able to be powered from 12V/solar as well as mains. What have you got?
That's a good idea thank you.Try searching online motor home or off grid living forums. They have very useful info on setting up solar PV systems.
Pour a bucket of water over that area to help the contact?They don’t Earth great in such dry weather though. Have 6 inch bolts into ground. Any tips?
Leaving a can of water on its side with a loose top is one way I have heard of . Rather like if you wanted to water a young tree.Pour a bucket of water over that area to help the contact?

That’s a good idea. Never thought of thatI have a solar powered electric fence and instead of trying to force an earthing stake into the dry ground, I just attach the earth lead to the fence wire netting which has plenty of ground contact. It's effective
This just popped up on FB
When doing Regenerative Management applying Non-Selective Intensive Grazing with long breaks, a good design of strokes and a good electric fence is indispensable;
the joules, that power that is generated in the team, would be half the work, the other side gives it to us the physical land or the negative so we depend on the efficient communication of the earth, as the electric pulse will enter the animal according to the speed with which the electric pulse finds the earth.. That is the nasty feeling you will feel with the "touch", if the earth is not efficient when transmitting the power contained in the wire of nothing serves that's why the Copper rod and moisture:
"to give more efficiency to the fence it is important to tune the earth"
