Same thing is happening here closest freezing works is taking 2 units of skins and hides to land fill a day.....the concerning for me is that sheep farmers with wool prices below shearing costs and dumping of by products we are now relying solely on the valve of meat alone and on 3 weeks of weather in the spring...not a great business model. Then when we look outside the farm gate there are changes too...our latest government has certainly changed direction. The last few years there was a push and talk of regen ag but this has move to plant based and no animals at all.....where this leads I have no idea yet......Thanks @Blaithin. I went and checked my records:.60c/lb to cut and wrap in 2014, .70c in 2016,.85c now for vacuum sealing . But irritant is the $60.00 for disposing of the ( usable) hide. As they say, farming is the only business where you pay freight both ways.
