Do you get an external assistor ram that would fit
Their wouldnt be any off the shelf kits. To fit a single ram would quite sore on the top yoke suppose 2 would be the best bet . Every tractor here from 500 days had 2 assistor rams.Do you get an external assistor ram that would fit

I think a 165 had a bigger ram but not sureWhen stopped the snap ring in the ram always tended to leak back down, did it not.
Would you go to 2900 or even 3000 on the relief valve?
165 dry axle will lift a 600l Hardi 12m sprayer with front weights on, no steering without, if that helps.
398 had only one assister ram, have to go to 399 to have 2 ramsTheir wouldnt be any off the shelf kits. To fit a single ram would quite sore on the top yoke suppose 2 would be the best bet . Every tractor here from 500 days had 2 assistor rams.
Was this on a 80 loader? I'm sh1t scared of breaking 398 in half if on heavy loader workNo I should of said we fitted the extra ones the 290 was the tonka toy 699 arms and rams 6 x3/4 brace brackets from the assistor ram brackets to the loader brackets 30cwt rams on the loader and a 2 ton weight on the back .
So basically flat bar from back axle to loader brackets? No that was an 880 the brackets were shutting the stable after the horse had bolted , a neighbour had loan of it broke it through the middle it look like a new bulled heifer £4700 to sort it
Best I can do I'm afraid: Thats it , thanks @two-cylinder the accessories book I,v got is a later one its listed but no illustration mine are a wee bit heavier memory mustn't be as bad after all.
Aye made the bracket in two halfs bolted them up solid then welded it togetherSo basically flat bar from back axle to loader brackets?
Yes I think you are right the angle of the drop arm is not as steep as mine ,all we did with the original 65 was moved the drop arms back on the lower links that was 1968. Edit ,, looking closer the genuine ones are one piece on one side of the lower link ave made the mistake of making mine saddle over the lower linkHave you ever seen these plates in the flesh?
I haven't studied them, but looking at the illustration I'm wondering if they are longer than yours?
If the plate is longer, and goes to the next hole in the lower link that can be seen in your first pic, it would take the lift rod further to the rear and increase lift capacity?
Well that's the first time I've seen that part, makes sense though presumably the 85 plough would be one of the heaviest implements at that time. Also, if you use an 85 3 furrow plough you ideally need this piece too:
An ex-salesman told me, it is used to limit sensor spring movement?
