Lazer was the only thing that seemed to move them last year but bit hopeless as they either moved around the corner or swapped sheds.

I bought a laser pen off eBay and it would be more use throwing it at them?

Agrilaser light

Expensive but with excellent range and good battery life. Does work in that it will move the birds but very labour intensive
It is the only thing to which they don’t get habituated too imo

This would do the job, but you do need the skills to fly it.

Yup that's the one, they fly in when doors open as soon as the machine starts another cycle they are back out the door.

A novel way to create anti slip concrete?!

What about a length of wire over 2 pullys along the length of the feed rail?

A motor wired to a simple switch which will spin the wire continually over the 2 pullys.

This will create your ever moving medium to which you can attach cds / plastic bags or what ever else will scare them.

Fair enough it may take a large motor for 2000m but you get the idea?

I cut out a silhouette of a red kite from an old plastic feed bag and strung it up with fishing twine, where it hovered and dipped gently in the slightest breeze. No bird muck all season! Worth a try!

Anyone tried the bird guard?

Yes. First winter was very good, last winter they started to get a bit cheeky, we have a laser torch which stirs them up a bit while someone is about.

About right.

They do get habituated so take care. Tbh, I doubt there is really any solution other than praying to your God that they’ve had a very poor breeding season
