Inflation figures.

Can anyone find me a report or headline from anywhere yesterday that called out today's inflation figures correctly?

Further increase was predicted everywhere I seen or heard, and yet it was slightly down.

And your point caller?
Down 0.1 well that is diving like a feather.
Uhm ahh at that rate it will take 4 years to get to 2%.
With oil going up one would be inclined to think it will stick in a 6-7.5% band for a while yet.

How many of their forecasts have ever been accurate? Almost as bad as the met office, if they told me the time I'd have to ring up the speaking clock

I think his point is that the usual suspects take every opportunity to talk the country and economy down. And, rather unsurprisingly, seem ever so disappointed when they are wrong, again and again and again.

UK inflation is falling at the same rate as Germany, Ireland's increases:

Is Sweden not an advanced economy...? Can't be, because it has much higher inflation than here...

I wonder - just wonder - if there is any link between the inflation rates being higher and decreasing more slowly in certain countries, and the fact that they have been and are being more generous in their actions toward Ukraine... or perhaps it's just a coincidence that the tightest countries seem to be doing a bit better in this regard...

Must be, because you don't like it; well, I can't complain your rhetorical ability is falling with old age...
Aging is a terrible thing.
Instant recall cannot be guaranteed, but then one remembers perfectly later on when doing something else 🤷‍♂️

Was genuinely sorry to read of Ken Livingstone difficulties with Alzheimers yesterday, his politics may not have always appealed, but he was so sharp...

The only good thing to be written about ageing is that it's generally better than the alternative... 😐

From a Youtube video, breaking It down a bit more. Column 1 is last month, column 2 is this month. Surprised that some of services have gone down. Wonder what it’ll look like when they eventually get round to the revised figures.

A fair few of those countries have gone up in the last month.
