Insurance Question

Hi Everybody

I am dealing with a shed insurance claim after storm damage and the insurers have given a figure but want to use their contractors and pay us when we pay there contracts invoices in stages I would like a pay-out

Instead and get my usual contractors I use regularly that I know will do a good job but the insures are only offering half of the pay-out for this option has anyone else experienced this?

Settlement in lieu of repair will pay less, because there is no contractors margin component.
I'd be wanting to submit my favoured contractors quote for consideration, as a starting point.
Some insurers will only use their regular bodyshop for car claims, I do know.
