We probably represent a typical farmers worst nightmare...townies moving for the good life who haven't a clue but hey we have had a go at the balsam and creeping thistle but am battling with the cuteness of rabbits and deer. x

No, the worst nightmare are the townies who *think* they have a clue; spend all day telling everyone on social media what a bad job we are doing; dont own any land but are quite happy taking their dogs out on other people's; etc. Anyone who gets stuck in is far from a nightmare (provided they control the ragwort). The best route into farming for my children will be working in the city until they have enough to buy one, not sat here in the mud and grease.

Hi i'm Sue, have spent 2 yrs recovering from buying a property that came with a bonus 11 acres. The locals have been amazingly friendly, not many hangings...Now we know where the water goes when it rains we are ready to do something with the land described as a 'play area' by the big boys. Will now lurk and read the pearls of wisdom on forums. Welcome aboard, Sue. We all have to start somewhere. Hope you are enjoying your learning curve, it does level off a bit after a while (about 10 years or so ;)) but we are all still learning even then.
Make sure you visit Of Topic, there is a 'Special' Club there where the guys lke to spend their time off, we could do with a few more of 'us' to help keep 'them' in order ;):ROFLMAO::peeking:
