Welcome. So hey, my friends call me Del. Hello !!
I'm here to make friends/contacts with people in the farming industry who love tech, i'm all about my drones, python, raspberry pies, arduinos, 3d printing, VR, and anything tech savvy (a little bit of programming but i am not very good at it!!). My grandfather passed down a farm to me thats located in India. I'm out there every 18months, and love it, one day i hope to retire out there once my kids are all grown!!
We've historically farmed loads of stuff like wheat, peanuts, millet, veg, sunflower, etc using traditionally techniques. I'm now looking to get more involved and hopefully bring a little savvy tech to what we've been doing for generations but its mostly laborious hand work.
Look forward to speaking with you all and learning as much as possible !!
Thanks mate, I can't believe i've been back and forth to the farm back in india soo many times and i've never come across any of these projects before! I'm literally going through every gitHub i can find at the moment and trying to get my head around all of this, loads of reading and video watching and tinkering for me to do. I cant wait to get out to the farm in a couple of months, love this forum already!Welcome.
You'll probably enjoy this thread then....

Welcome alongBeen on here for a while but never introduced myself. I’m 37, got a wife and 2 young kids. Farm 100 acres in East Sussex, a mile away from my parents farm where I grew up. Didn’t plan to go into farming myself, went to uni then joined the Royal Marines. When I met the mrs and decided to start a family I left the military and came back to the area I know after a short stint working in north Uganda. Now doing a few different things to pay the bills, sheep, cattle, glamping in the summer, fencing, relief milking. planted 120 walnut trees. In organic conversion. Work mainly on my own, often miss the comeraderie of the marines. Farming can be a lonely job. But satisfying to be own boss.
I have it cut once a year................. ....................................yeah and meet @yellowbelly …..the friendly talking sheep that needs a haircut
