iOS 11

What's wrong with this? Since installing it my battery life on my iPhone 6 has halved. I've done the iOS 11.0.2 patch.

I turn Bluetooth off, have background app refresh turned down to a couple of apps only. Lack of mobile signal in my office probably doesn't help & the push setting in my email is using a fair bit of power.

Is it just me??

iPhone 8 and X is out - they want you to upgrade ;)

I noticed this happens a lot when a new model is out

My 7 has gone very slow on outlook since update

Battery is probably done on your 6... I find battery performance drops rapidly after a year or two. £10 on eBay will get you a new one and the tools to change it... good as new
Sure the battery is no brand new (I could go buy a new iPhone 6) but my point is the drain rate went up exponentially with iOS11, happens with every step change in iOS. I've found it to be most draining with video - suspect they are working on optimising buffering/screen writes in this version

Same here, more like a downgrade and an upgrade :banghead:

when a new model is out they release updates for the old ones that slows down your phone so that you are more inclined to upgrade.

There is not the slightest issue with the latest iOS on my iPhone5S or my iPhone 8 and my daughter, who is quick to notice these things, hasn't mentioned a degradation with her iPhone6.
Neither is there any problem with my iPad, which is the only one of three that is new enough to take the new OS on board.

In fact as far as my old iPhone 4S is concerned, its battery seems to be as good as new too, although it obviously hasn't been upgraded. The battery and phone is actually over five years old. The only reason it isn't now used is that the soldering on the Wifi module needs reflowing, as it has totally lost the signal and Wifi is locked out. Thermal shocking worked for six months off and on, but it lasted less and less until it became unusable. I may ask for a price to repair it from a local stall in the market, to see if its worth doing.

Oddly, the original 5S, which was my daughters to start with, had a battery die at about two years of age, in that it cut the phone off with around 30% charge showing. I took it in for a new battery and for the £80 standard repair cost they just gave me a brand new 5S. This one works like new and its between 18 months and two years old now. It just feels older because its identical to the original.

£80! To change a battery I'm in the wrong job.
