Is an anti-cavitation additive necessary in classic tractors

Morning I have read alot about people putting an anti-cavitation additive in there cooling system. Is this recommended ( got a ford 4000) and if so what product are you using? Is 50 /50 mixer best for antifreeze?

The anti cavitation additives may be less required for a Ford 4000 than a newer wet sleeve engine, but you have to have something to protect the engine from corrosion. 50/50 concentration isn't strictly needed if you will never see -40. One part concentrate three parts distilled or rain water would be fine, but you'll need to add more additives as there is none in the water obviously. The corrosion from sitting comes from the glycol, the cavitation running comes from the both glycol and water, so if it will never freeze there are additives specifically for straight water, but probably as hard to find there as here.

Opticool looks like a suitable hybrid OAT type, and they "recommend" a 25, 33 and 40% dilution so it must be fine at those concentrations. An older style straight SCA would be suitable also.
