Is PA1 and 2 worth it?

Location

Hi all.
Ag engineering student here, level 2 completed and currently on level 3.
I am thinking of doing PA1 and 2 at college but I am going straight to work for a dealer afterwards. I am however getting weekend farm work to try to aid my driving lesson fund.
Even so, would you think that PA1 and 2 is useful and is it a good idea that i go for it?

Thanks.

Get as many qualifications as you can, several independent training providers and assessment centres have schemes in place to help young entrants into the industry get some of these at a reduced rate. Very area specific though.

How much will it cost?

Everyone is saying go for it because they're not paying for it.

Roughly £200-250 per module for Pa training and assessment

If that's the case I'd pass. If the OP is going to work for a dealer and doesn't intend to go farming later then its not worth it at a time when you've more money going out than in.
If they have 500 quid burning a hole there's better things a mechanic could be spending there money on. Perhaps extra welding courses or something that's going to help them. Even putting it towards a HGV licence would probably be more useful for a diesel mechanic than a spray test?

I don’t deal with the colleges to know how they do things now. The last courses I did do there though the students were being charged a large amount for the forklift training despite being students, would be 2 years ago now probably.
