Is TFF ready for the Animal Rebellion ?

In two weeks time, the livestock industry will face its biggest mass protest yet.

www.animalrebellion.org

On current evidence, the national bodies representing the industry have little planned to counter this (though I would love to be proved wrong).

Aside from the on-the-ground protests in London, this looks like being a largely social media driven initiative. There have been a wealth of excellent facebook posts shared on TFF in recent months telling the other side of the story.

Would it be an idea for a sticky to be created at the top of this page, just to be there for the next month or so, for people to again share these posts, so that everyone knows where they are and can share them far and wide from 7 October ? The TFF collective must have access via social media to at least as much of the UK population as do Animal Rebellion. The time to use that power is now.

From the contacts you’ve had with the “Extinction” groups, what are your thoughts on them now?

What happened to CND, the Greenham Common protestors, the Hippy Convoy, Swampy and the rest of the road work protesters? Have they all migrated to Animal Rebellion and Climate Extinction as an alternative anarchy with a catchier and to some a more acceptable tag ?

We need support like this
But we live in a pathetic liberal lefty country controlled by the minority rule, offended brigade

Don't fool yourselves into thinking Morrison is driven by some concern for agriculture . . .
There was no need for new laws, as existing trespassing & other laws were sufficient.

Ever since 9/11 ( did anyone bother to read the excellent essay from Jim Wright I shared ? Probably not ) our Govt has looked for any excuse to further erode our privacy & freedoms. We live in one of the most draconian countries in the west, rapidly heading down the road to being a right wing police state . . .

No - the MAIN reason the Morrison govt would have brought these laws in would be to FURTHER bolster their already extreme anti - protest laws. Mainly to target environmental, indigenous or farmer groups who protest about the resources industry & their big fat brown envelopes of back door cash . . .

Not the Federal govt, but a few years ago the NSW State govt brought in laws, SPECIFICALLY aimed at protecting the coal & gas industry - where you could be gaoled for 7 YEARS for peacefully protesting against new coal developments . . . These new coal developments are all VAST open cut affairs, ( a Chinese govt owned project, Shenhua Watermark, just 7 km upstream of me, has a proposed mine area of 35 square km . . . )

I disagree firmly against the farm invasion type anti animal tactics, or targeting farmers & their families - but PLEASE don't give Morrison any praise for his actions. There is a bigger agenda behind it . . .
We live in one of the most draconian countries in the west, we are rapidly losing all our privacy & freedoms. Be careful what you wish for

Think i will have a self imposed media blackout and then i won't even notice it. I hope they start protesting at markets, the pressure we are under giving them a good hiding would be a great release of frustration.

Gail Bradbrook has told me that AR is nothing to do with XR, I have no reason to doubt her word on that.
The convenor of XR rural is a livestock farmer.
If you read the AR website, it is clear that they have been told that they can't say they are part of XR, they do try very hard to align themselves but ,go short of claiming connection.

It is difficult for them both, just as it is difficult for farmers to explain to the outside world that there are various subsets within agriculture (organic, conventional, pasture fed etc).

Protesting at a coal mine is a dam sight different than invading a farm letting animals out [which is darn right dangerous in itself ] and terrorising a farmer and their family

Australian politics has it's place (Australia). Can we get this thread back on track please?

From the website:
Animal Rebellion seeks to follow in XR's footsteps: in October, we will engage in mass nonviolent civil disobedience in key sites across London to force the issue of the government's inaction on the climate crisis, and especially its in action against the destructive animal farming and fishing industries, into the public consciousness. When thousands of rebels occupy London, standing strong throughout the night, risking arrest and bearing peace in our hearts, the public will be spurred to contemplate the idea of a plant-based food system, and with greater public
pressure the government will be forced to take action.

It's a blockade of Smithfield Market by a minority Vegan group hell bent of hi-jacking the climate change movement to further their own anti-democratic agenda, the will of the few forced on the many.

Do we just give them enough organic hemp rope to hang themselves with (XR at Dover last weekend, shot themselves in both feet), or do we organise a 'counter protest' and mobilise in large numbers like we did with the Countryside March, and let our voice be heard too?
How about we all go to Smithfield for a Rib Eye when all of this 'anti food, anti choice, anti democracy' BS kicks off ?
