Come on now chae1...

You have to admire his stance on the matter... Its not for us to say if its right or wrong...

It's just a thought... But sometimes I think we as a group of farmers should take more of a stance...
He said he's not going to lower himself to the level of people who are in scheme?

I'm one of those people. Just interested why he considers himself a level above those of us in this scheme.

I normally find the people that rubbish these schemes are the one's that need to be in them the most!

We already do everything required from scheme. So apart ftom data entry and tissue tagging it isn't any additional work.

Everyone says no money in suckler cows. Yet feel they can turn down money.

Hilly will have a good response no doubt! And good reason for not taking the money.

I look forward to being shot down by him!

No its not on bes site its agrecalc.com. It's pretty farmer friendly. Even i managed do it myself this year!
I'm afraid doing a carbon audits going to become mandatory the way things are going with farming and the environment. I'm quite happy I've already completed one and came out of it in a good light.

I think part of the problem with the scheme is the way those running it communicate. They come across quite aggressive in correspondence. I think many farmers have just told them where to go. I know I've been tempted a few times.
You could be right re the tone of their correspondence, its also never their fault if anything is not correct, ever.

I’m not that desperate enough for money I lower myself to joining a half arsed scheme so I didn’t !
I know a guy who says the same about the calf payment, he won't fill out the form, I also know of a lad who says that those who jump through the required hoops for the BPS are fools.
I do them all, and I'm happy to be that fool.

Just like beauty, stupid is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

We didn’t receive our tissue tags for spring 2018 born calves, apparently they were sent to us in May 2019 ... I was told it’s our problem that the tissue samples weren’t sent back, despite the fact they would have been sold before then anyway as BCMS would have shown!!

Sounds about right, we got cheek from them as they sent tags for calves that arrived the day after they went through UA Stirling. Skilled we may be , time travellers we aint.

Read back @Hilly, you've misread (I also can't quote you as you've made a typing error)

I called nobody stupid, I was asking another member a question as to what they believed ;)

I simply suggest that some things may be stupid to some and not to others, it depends on their views.

Many dislike subs, but they still claim them.

No disrespect to them in the scheme but I looked at it , it did t sit well with me I liked nothing about it so took a stance against it like a lot have , if more had it would have had to be altered or just put on the calf sub .

I agree. It's a lot of sh!t. No one's going to gain anything from it. I think there will be a clause somewhere and the folk that are in it will get their pants down
