Is they any value in Triticale straw

Got the option to grow triticale. Is there a market for the straw or do people normally chop it?

I know I'm in France so from my point view no different from wheat straw use it for bedding.
Same price here.

We're growing triticale specifically because it has lots of straw.

Similar to wheat straw when I used to grow it. Little coarser maybe. I had about 3T / acre from winter sown crop.

Grown it and used it just the same as wheat. Or you could bind it, the ridges of my thatched roof are triticale ?

it would be grown as a seed crop. just wandering how hard it is to get the germination above 80%.

Come September it maybe an old straw boater has value, let alone Triticale straw in the swath!

Not grown it for a long time, we have almost nothing planted here so growing a range of spring crops. This will go on failed OSR land.

Last time we grew it on land with lots of rabbits, they didn't eat it but it just pushed the problem further on. Fencing and drop traps have sorted the bunnies.
