Not a very good picture I am afraid. However. the mother is exactly 2 years and 2 weeks old.

That is her second calf, born today.

Anyone beat that?

I had an old neighbour years ago who had 60/70 cattle that were all let loose with each other, all horns and balls with no tags :/ heifers would calve before a year old and more often than not fail to calve so would die during labour....
after seeing the state that herd/farm turned to because of the owners mental health issues I hope your not going the same way!

Depends who you ask, the above heifer was a cock up from her Dad in year 1 and she got on well with that calf, so no reason to not have another go.

Can't beat it for age but I had one had 3 calves by 25.5 months old last year. Calved at 15 months then gained 7 weeks to calve twins last year. Sadly 1 didn't make it cos I didn't realise there was twins til it was too late.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
