We have an old McCormick International Harvesters S6-1 grain drill in the back of our shed,

In full working order (apart from one wheel has a puncture), we used to use it for drilling grass seeds,

Stored inside all it's life,

Is it worth owt?

Advertise it in the back of classic tractor, someone will want it.

Think fergie drills only have a decent value because of the wheels.

It's worth next to nothing as scrap, quite light.

Some IH fan will want it, dont scrap it!!

Advertise it here, stick it on ebay or in Classic Tractor...

Dad had one years ago, or a simmilar one, said it was a good drill in its time, a little gearbox on it for changine seed rate?

I've got a very old Massey-Harris, 1954 I think, grain and fertiliser drill on iron wheels in my barn. I used to use it but it only held 3 cwt (150kg) of seed.

I wonder what it is worth?

I don't know what yours is worth Rob, sorry!

Thats a McCormick IH s-62 or something seed and grass drill. Its made in Nordkjoping in Sweden, I have one my self, but I lost the seed-table.

Edit. I see yours the S6-1, your gearbox is beside the toplink?

Im saving mine to go with a nice old mccormick tractor one day!

If you buy it there is one golden rule with this drill
DO NOT GO BACKWARDS
We had one hired out when I was a boy and when the drill came home it was a wreck. The guy had forgotten and reversed.
I remember it cost more to repair than Father had paid for it!
It was a lovely little drill, I drilled hundreds of acres of grass with it. Behind a little David Brown 770, but we finally sold it and replaced it with a Nordstein which I think may have came out of the same factory

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
