Hi I’ve an ISO BUS krm Fertiliser spreader. What do I need to make it work on a none iso bus tractor?

  2. You’ll have to get an ISObus harness to fit to the tractor. Various aftermarket ISObus retrofit harnesses available from Mueller and I think KV do one too.

An isobus harness and isobus screen

I got 1 with my kv spreader which just goes directly to the battery and to kv screen so I can use it on all my tractors

What tractor have you got ? Have you got anything with an isobus screen that isn't permanently attached to tractor or machine

  6. If the OP doesn’t have a ISO capable terminal/screen (which he probably doesn’t if the tractor isn’t equipped with ISObus) the question then becomes which aftermarket screen and what other functionality is needed.

Probably wishing he hadn’t bought an iso spreader now

I was thinking along the JD line he might have had a 2600/30 which with a loom could be moved between tractors

Isobus is great if you've only got 1 tractor with the capability but as soon as you have a breakdown or just simply have to use the machine on another tractor then you've got issues

I am fairly sure krm do a iso bus controller for those that have a tractor without iso built in. Don’t know who make it or how it compares with other makes.

  9. Looks like KRM offer the TeeJet Aeros to get ISObus on a non-ISO tractor.

Otherwise on a non-ISO spreader they offer iZurf or whatever it’s now called as an Android tablet app. But that wont help the OP.

  11. My “ideal” is no extra control boxes, antennas, looms or any other crap to move (read lose/break/get nicked) between machines, but it’s an expensive exercise getting multiple machines spec’d that way if you want to get real “hitch up and go” ability.

The fact of the matter is that ISObus costs the manufacturers very little to implement at the factory.

Given the frankly extortionate price of new machines, I reckon it should be a standard no extra cost fitting.

First You need the to make sure that the isobus box is behind the mud flap on the spreader .???

Depending on how old the spreader is you may be able to update the software. The earlier software only had on and off as a button on the screen, mine was like this. With the update you get the ability to select one of the joystick buttons on the tractor for on and off. In my fendt I use the Red spool float button as its nice and close to go2 which I use for the steering. Dont want a tired thumb from having to move it too far :)

The very newest machines have different software and I dont think older machines can be upgraded, I may be wrong on this. I have section control on my new tractor so I am looking forward to see how it works with the KRM.

Apologies for Hi-jacking the thread, but I have a question relating to the same topic - an ISOBUS KRM M35 spreader...… Will it run/can it be operated, using for example the receiver and Amatron3 control box from an Amazone sprayer? Looking at purchasing A M35 with dynamic section control and am hoping the Amatron3 control box and receiver that runs the section control on the sprayer will do the same on a KRM isobus spreader, assuming that I am correct that the Amatron3 is a ISOBUS terminal. All help gratefully received.

  16. Should work as the Amatron 3 is a certified ISO terminal. It may need a firmware update, if it has issues talking to the newer ISO controller on the spreader. You should be able to test it if the KRM selling dealer has an ISO tractor, you can plug your Amatron 3 into with the spreader. Might save some tears later...

Thanks, will give the dealer a call later and see what can be done. In theory it should work, but as you say, could be an issue with the firmware. The Amatron3 box is only 6 months old, but will test it and see what happens. Thanks again.

  18. The new Amatron 4 box was launched earlier this year. No idea what the price difference between 3 and 4 is though.
