JCB 526/55 overheating.

1995 model. 7000 hours.Since the frost in December. Heater blowing cold. Has no thermostat in. Would this effect it or not. Temp stays normal on tick over. Soon as its moved,temp goes up. Struggling to get half hour work from cold before having to stop.

Impellor's fell off the water pump.

yes, put a correct new thermostat in it, when open the thermostat like on most machine closes off the internal bypass in the block. if you remove the stat the water mostly just goes round the bypass and not the rad, you also don't tend to get any flow up to the heater in cab.

Without wishing to go against the experts on these could it be it has lost water and you now have an air bubble blocking the flow?
